Grape variety: gamay noir à jus blanc
Soil type: crumbly decomposed rock made up mainly of pyritic schist rich in iron oxide and manganese that give the soil its ochre red colour. This is what we call "la roche pourrie" (rotten rock) that is characteristic of the wine and is a very advanced alteration of manganese and very ancient blue-green eruptive rock.
Appellation extras: There are 6 named vineyards in the Cru that divide the appellation into three bands facing south- southeast and northwest, giving very distinctive wines.
Winemaker personal notes: Exit of a particular soil, it seduces by its plenitude in mouth. Of its county, it brings back red fruit perfumes crushed by the anger of storms. Robe deep garnet-red, flavors of ripe fruit and cherry, peaches and plum-stones, It is a rich wine, full of temper and is getting powerful with the time.
